BASKETBALL:
This Antique-style, Naismith, laced leather basketball was popular
from the 1890's till the 1930's. (Dr. Naismith invented the game
and was its influence for 30 years.) This "First Ball"
is completely hand sewn of specially tanned and treated leather.
Our replica has a 33-34 inch circumference, larger than today's
ball. With its laces, and unique old fashioned shape, it is trickier
to dribble and shoot. It is so perfect to the great old larger
first ball in its look and feel that it will make a great addition
to your collection. Original basketballs, of this vintage, in
perfect condition can sell for huge sums if you can ever find
one. Most are only found in museums. Note: The "Naismith
laced ball" comes with a "1905" date decal that
you can add or leave off if you desire.)
